Status asks what people owe me. Service asks what Allah has entrusted to me. The Prophetic model of leadership is not to stand above people, but to carry responsibility for them.

When service comes first, the community becomes safer. People are heard, the weak are protected, and decisions are made with fear of Allah rather than love of position.
